Home for Christmas

Having missed the last two Christmases with my family, it was lovely to be able to be there with them this year.  And how special a trip it was!  I was constantly overwhelmed with God's gracious kindness and undeserved blessing.

On the way in, I was able to stop and see my beautiful cousin in Little Rock.

During the weeks that followed, I had the opportunity to speak in a few churches and host some open houses, sharing the ministry of Lemuel, as well as my own.  Thank you to all who pray for, support, encourage me.  Sincerely, you play a very real part in what God is doing on the Plateau!  As I experienced your generosity and encouragement, it struck me in a fresh way how God has chosen to move through His people to accomplish His work.

Over Christmas, my mom, brothers, and I were able to take a trip together back to San Diego for the first time in 17 years.  We had a very special time visiting family and friends.

My brother, Jordan, and I seem to have a knack for goofy, in-the-middle-of-a-sentence pictures.

Zack and I took a (freezing cold) walk along Coronado beach.

Lovely time with family....even the La Jolla birds were cooperating.

Baklava and Turkish coffee...Christmas Eve.

Time is such a confounding thing!  It can seem long and short at the same time.  One can feel as though one has been gone for ages and yet not gone at all.  And though you try your best to live in and appreciate each moment to the fullest, you cannot hold onto it, and it seems impossible that it has already past.

My trip back to the Plateau was relatively uneventful.  For those of you who may not know, that means it was GOOD.  "Events" usually consist of overweight baggage or airport security issues; blown tires or other automotive problems or sitting in traffic for 5 hours....or perhaps theft, shooting, or earthquakes (I fortunately have not suffered the last two of those).  So I thank God for uneventful trips and safe arrivals!
