Rain, rain don't go away...I'm inviting you to stay.

Those are the lyrics of my dear friend, Kimberliana, but they express our sentiments too!  Finally, after months of intense drought, the rain fell....and it fell good!  Check out Judy's pictures on Lemuel's blog lemuelministries.blogspot.com.  We thank God for this gift!  He is the only one who can make it rain.

Of course, tropical rain is not exactly the same as rain in Pennsylvania, for example.  First of all, the raindrops themselves are gigantic.  Secondly, they usually fall in torrents.  It takes about 5 seconds to get soaked through.  Here is a video I captured (at the risk of my poor camera) of the water that rushed through Manis's mother's yard and past my garden into the water hole across from my house.

I've never seen it this full!

I wish that I also had been able to capture some pictures of the water that descended from the mountains through the (usually) dry river bed.  Even people who have lived here all their lives have rarely seen the water rush and boil like that!  People were temporarily stranded on either side of it.
